Seasons greetings

It seems I've forgotten the cards, oh dear,
I suppose I'm not sending any this year,
Instead I think I'll compose a sonnet,
with festive seasons greetings upon it,
sent in a mail for the impersonal touch,
ecologically friendly and it won't cost as much,
now don't get me wrong, it's not that I'm cheap
and not that the price of a stamp is too steep.
it's just that I'd prefer to spent my loot
on a few pints of beer and some peanuts to boot.
I wish you all happiness, joy and cheer,
and I hope that your wishes come true this year,
Singing Merry Christmas one and all and ole jinglebell
Best wishes from Blues hag, AKA Isobel.

The 12 pubs of Christmas

We conducted the annual pub crawl in Blackrock on the 3rd, here's the toast from each pub.

To the vodka, the whiskey, the stout and the beer,
To those who are absent and those who are here,
To the bunch of mad drunkards who travel en Mass,
To the start of the day of the 12 pubs of Christmas.

Get up off yer asses,
And raise up yer glasses,
While Corkey and Rachel have gone to the loo,
Lets make a toast to pub no. 2

On with our journey all merry and gay,
Thanks to the smokers for the short delay,
When we’re gray and old we’ll have stories to tell,
And pub no. 3 is ‘the wishing well’.

T’was two times the Avoca once the Ass an cart,
A pub with substance spirit and heart,
We’re doing pretty well, not a drop did we spill,
But we all thank God no. 4 was down hill.

Well I’ve changed from Carlsberg to a bottle of Coors light,
And slowly but surely our day turns to night,
But I notice with glee that we’re all still alive,
To raise our glasses in pub no. 5

As we cross over the half way line,
Boys looking hot and girls looking fine,
Some drinkin’ spirits and some drinking beer,
Why does this happen just one time a year.

Here in the Greenwitch we thought we’d get food,
Turns out some people just aren’t in the mood,
Some just prefer to go on the batter,
‘cause they thought this place was called the mad hatter.

We’ve known each other since we were two,
Jen is a legend, we all know that’s true,
An even the the evenin’ is getting late,
We’re still only on pub no. 8

To me this place seems kind of sedate,
After the relative madness of pub no. 8,
But I’m safe in the knowledge of what we all know,
That it’s nearing the end there’s just 3 more to go.

I find myself standing up here again,
With a poem in hand for pub no. 10,
Some have faltered, they’re not energetic,
But I’m still here being Poetic.

Although I’m writing this one in retrospect,
Due to the fact that I was far too wrecked,
To find the words that could begin to engulf ,
The shenanigans that happened in ‘the wicked Wolf’

I can’t believe it, I can’t believe I’m here
After skipping pub 11 and drinking loads of beer,
I have to say I’m so proud of myself
To have made it at last to pub no. 12

Where in the World have I been all these years.

This is quite cool, makes me look like a right little explorer! Try it out, it gives a whole new meaning to Painting the town red.

Monday Morning, and my blog 'Type'

Ha Ha, I found this as I was idly wanderin' through the world of blogs, ie I was doing the 'next blog' thing.

Your Blogging Type Is the Private Performer

Your blog is your stage - with your visitors your adoring fans.
At least, that's how you write with your witty one liners.
And while you like attention, you value your privacy.
You're likely to have an anonymous blog - or turn off comments.

I'm not sure it's very accurate, I mean how accurate can you be with about 5 questions and only 2 options for each. This means there are a limited number of personality types in blogging, I think there's as many personality types as there are blogs. Anyway the comment about comments is something I have been considering 'cause I keep getting comments that aren't comments at all, it's just some random person slyly trying to sell stuff. Cheeky I think, how dare they! I would like to leave the comments section in there just incase anyone ever reads this and wants to say something. As the sly sellers prevails right now I think I'll give it another while and then remove it if I don't get any legitimate comments.
